Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The most effective way to upgrade your gear in Path of Exile is through item upgrades. This allows you to upgrade items your gear without having depend on costly trades or drops. This article will help you understand how to upgrade your gear.
Upgrades in equipment can add a bonus to the item’s base stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components are the things that make your weapons and armor better. You can find them through destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors, or finding them in the form of item upgrade-spheres. They can also be rescued from equipment with them or by using an advanced salvage kit like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren’t destroyed when you remove them from the item.
The primary function of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded, but they also serve other functions. They can be stacked to increase the quality of an upgradeable item, or they can be used to boost the amount of experience gained from upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can also be made to give additional bonuses. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the chances of upgrading its target while a boost upgrade increases the attack or defense capabilities of the weapon.
Selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will let you bind it to an item. This will show the upgrade components to which the item can be updated. Alternatively, you can use the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either instance the item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components are gathered.
Each component has a distinct experience multiplier, which determines the amount of experience an item will gain when it is upgraded by that component. For instance, organic components offer a higher experience multiplier than mechanical ones. It is recommended to upgrade the organic components first, until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment, and then switch to the mechanical upgrades.
Each item comes with an upgrade limit number that can be received. The number of items that are upgradeable is determined by their upgradeable rank and the kind of upgrade they are able to receive. The most powerful upgrade is a weapon with tier 10. The most popular weapon upgrade is a tier 6 gun and a armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of items that share the benefit of. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once and the upgrade increases its guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade an item or set piece will give it an increase of +1 to its primary stat. Following upgrades, the primary stats will be boosted even further (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats increases randomly.
Upgrades to a weapon may increase the damage base, which may be necessary for certain builds. Weapons cannot be upgraded for greater maximum defence rolls than their base. It is a good way to improve the value of a set and unique items, however it’s important to note that they’re not necessarily more effective than a high-level raneword in any build.
If you are upgrading an item with bonuses, the item can be rerolled a single time and the guarantee will reset back to 0. The same amount of power dies are used to roll an item upgrader mod as it would be to level it up. However the new item comes with different bonuses. The NPC [ArmorBoboko Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will need the appropriate amount Minerals and Erons and a power dice of each kind. These are available at the crafting table or the Ultra Collector and can be purchased using Gold. The NPC will also offer an additional reward for each completed tier of the upgrade process. The reward can be rerolled one time using the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
If players have enough to reroll tokens, they are able to reroll any item upgrade that they’ve accumulated during the game. When an upgraded item is rerolled, it will be exchanged for the version at a level 1 of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for a small sum of in-game currency. They are non-refundable. The new item will offer the same bonus features as the original, but the statistics will also differ.
Players can change the identity of their equipment as well as changing it’s roll by interfacing with an NPC upgrader. This will change the identification from a weapon to armor or vice versa, all the while keeping its basic stats and required attributes. The change will last for a long time and affect all characters who own the equipment.
Players can also increase the level of an item equipped equipment by obtaining upgrade components and interacting with the upgrader NPC of the item. The cost will differ based on the upgrade track, item type and the number of crests. Each upgrade will add an additional 5% of damage to weapons.
Upgrades can increase the power of an item, but they also decrease the quality of an item. It is therefore essential to find a balance between the two. Some items may not be worth upgrading at all however, others will need to be upgraded to maximize their potential. One player may wish to upgrade the breakpoint armor by adding an interesting modification ( percent block chance or FHR) in order to discover what it could become.
The primary reason why people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is that they’re trying to acquire a certain weapon or character that they aren’t able to obtain. The process of obtaining these items can be costly and time-consuming and the RNG gods aren’t always willing to play. The only alternative is to invest money or grind extensively. For this reason, rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can select whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. This feature isn’t available in the current version of the game. I believe this feature was intended to add some value to expensive and rare items. However, since the majority of equipment is replaced quickly, and it can only be leveled up to a certain level, you will usually replace it before it becomes too old. It’s not worth it to level items that have gem sockets because the power of the gem will outweigh the higher ilvl that comes with the upgrade.
You will see a small window when you click on the upgrade option on an item. It will show the item’s template, the crest, and the cost of Valorstone to increase the item level. Armor and weapons have different prices, with the latter usually being more expensive. The upgrade template outlines the stats that will be added to the upgraded item and it also lists the current ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and Crest is calculated using the current Ilvl of the item and the upgrade templates. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade templates lvl reduction percentage. For instance an upgrade of 8% will reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 88%.
In addition to the base ilvl increase the item will also get upgrades in other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage, block, parry and dodge rating. Those increases are also dependent on the upgrade template.
The amount of defense and damage the item will receive as it gets leveled up can be seen below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All weapons and armor apart from practice equipment get these stats when they level up. The value of these additional stats will be determined by the market, with a perfectly perfectly rolled version of a weapon or piece of armor can command significantly more in trade value than unupp’d versions. The same applies to other pieces of armor like circlets and Tiaras.
