WoW Upgrades – The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give you boost in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item level upgrade by 3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.
The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to Best item upgrader owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with an The button will show a preview of an item’s next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
Upgraders for items are available in many places including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.
In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur’s Gate II, there is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a benefit as well as a drawback.
In Season 3, the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and numerous new features added. After a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is true regardless of whether the items come from another set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced as well, but is only available after certain milestones have been reached.
Crests
When upgrading gear in WoW players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests can only be used to purchase equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade item path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests can then be exchanged at an Best item upgrader upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.
Using these new currencies isn’t too difficult, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.
Another important change is that crests have one use therefore it’s essential to use them properly. For instance, it’s a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to make. This is particularly true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
