WoW Upgrades – The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.
The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can’t be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For instance upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. They are purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with the help of button, which will show an image of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the Item Level Upgrade slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur’s gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with several new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will cost less even if they are part of another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut also, but is only available when certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specific and are used for specific item upgrader mod level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests can only be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade items costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type or equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The new currency system isn’t difficult to use, but it brings some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
It’s also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it’s a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you’re planning to create. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
