Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new attachments. They can also boost its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.
Typically, items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas items with strong bases like Eth titans don’t change much in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They provide an attribute bonus, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies or as a reward from missions or chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they are upgraded.
To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the user must choose it and click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade statistics and the required component or materials.
There are three kinds of upgrade item components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions are only placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are similar to jewels but have higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix to the end of the item’s name. For example, adding a Glyph would make a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades to gather tools when a player swaps one glyph with a different one the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, with the exception of inscriptions which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant variations from earlier versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before they are « leveled out. » The cost of upgrading increases with each level however the materials required don’t increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a couple of essential items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading cost of upgrades across several items.
This will enable the Best item upgrader to receive upgraded components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to be given affixes that increase its features. The amount of affixes available is determined by the item’s kind. For instance, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade process requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level, and in which slot it is located in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item doesn’t reach its maximum level, the NPC gives players the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a new set or upgrades. This process can take up to two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower success rate.
To measure the height of a building, engineers will utilize an instrument to compare the measurement against an established reference point like a benchmark, or the elevation of the ground. This is referred to as a « level-loop. » It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and the level, then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item upgrader kit (take a look at the site here). It is an important aspect of the game and can dramatically increase the strength of an item and damage as well as other attributes. This can be done via the item menu or clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be performed in the rarest of circumstances.
Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or another item of the same type. Recyclable items come with an indicator that indicates the level of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.
Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you’d be able to get the stats that were important most to your build more often than other items. This included things like the armor’s total armor, thorns, and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon’s bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be either good or bad, depending on what you’re looking to get from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may come with a bonus that increases the power of the item by a fixed percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to regular affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better chances of obtaining an exclusive bonus.
The game also features various sets that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on an item. This is an excellent way to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending a lot of money.
Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. This is because rerolling can give players a faster route to a more powerful character and allows them to climb higher levels and advance in the game much more quickly.
Sets
Sets are groups of elements that can be put together in a variety of ways. They can have different sizes, have no elements at all, or contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They are also useful in studying patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.
There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, while some are not. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets that offer high defense value and set bonuses. However, upgrades to weapons typically do not boost the quality of the item’s stats when compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already large.
Set items can be upgraded to include unique tools that are suitable for specific builds. This is evident in Aldur’s Advance Boots and Guillaume’s Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).
Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items up to parity with the different tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
To see if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on the screen for their character. It will show the item upgrader kit (take a look at the site here)’s attributes, along with the required items to upgrade it. For instance the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will give a substantial increase in their performance. This will also boost the defense of armor with a newer appearance.
