World of Warcraft – Item Upgrading
The item upgrade lets players boost an item’s gear rating up 700 points, and then give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance the perfect rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons aren’t changed much after an upgrade and aren’t worth it.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats such as crit chance, attack damage, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally, many weapons have an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a single unit. In some cases this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon upgrades on its own.
A weapon’s upgrade costs depend on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For example, an +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it is required to use the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. This is usually a good aspect, but it may also have negative effects. Upgrades can make things unusable, unless you are very lucky.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to improve their stats. This can increase the base defense of a helm or chest while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it may reroll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain when upgrading, along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button that has arrows that circle in the menu for items. This will reroll the item and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon’s level nor connect to the status of your account.
Armor
Adding a few upgrades to your armor could make a a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, making traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the more health you will get from each point. Therefore, it’s a good idea to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and to unlock each fountain, you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you’ve done the main side quest and have completed the fountain in question, you can then talk to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each will vary. In general, you’ll need at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the first upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a decent-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold conditions and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to survive a full on raid with a handful of friends.
It’s important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you’ll want to focus on upgrading it for physical power if you’re a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of a Mage. It’s also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you’ll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use to fight the final boss and the Monter Parts Merchant’s mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. You’ll generally want to save these upgrades to the weapon that you’ll use to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it’s useful to have a few upgrades to the chest armor and helmets so that you can get around a few monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, provide a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five types of potions with different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be earned through crafting them on a table or by placing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades will vary based on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, and also on the item’s Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potion you need to right-click it in your inventory. Select “Upgrade” from the menu. This will open a GUI where you can choose the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will produce when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP level.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not degrade until you use it again, or break the bottle it’s stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to rename it.
There were some changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. Splash potions for instance have now a duration of that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item. The potion table is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It is now able to be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can’t be used in cauldrons. The same is true for using a potion within an empty cauldron. Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons and armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets are able to be traded out at any time without losing their status.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of each zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered with tokens, gold or fragments of trinkets that are rare.
Upgrading a trinket is an affordable alternative to buying new ones. You can upgrade a trinket with just 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as older one, and include an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Once the old Trinkets are not usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value with time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the Best item upgrade-in slot items for each class are first upgraded before their secondary gear and finally other pieces of equipment they will not replace in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). It is also important to consider your class’s preferred stats when selecting the items to upgrade. For instance, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should be focusing on upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and helm.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level once they’re no longer needed and the new trinket will receive an additional upgrade bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than purchasing new ones.
