Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule
The official list below only shows time slots reserved, not confirmed exams. Check with your instructor whether or not your course will be taking its final exam in this period.
Before registering, make sure to go over the Goethe exam guidelines and terms and conditions that appear on each exam page. Make sure you register for the appropriate level of the exam.
Locations
The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification exams. If you require special accommodations because of chronic disease, visual or hearing impairment or other disabilities Contact the exam provider and provide the documentation when registering.
The Faculty Dashboard in Workday has a “View My Teaching Schedule” that allows faculty to find their exam schedules. The Registrar’s Office also has a schedule of exam times for the courses that are required to be tested under NYSED regulations. Final exams for classes in the evening are scheduled during the regular class meeting times of the final exams.

Registration
Students are advised to check the exam schedule online. However it is crucial to note that the exam schedule can change at any time. Students should therefore check with their instructors for the correct time and date of their test. Students should also print out the official list of questions to bring to their exam.
In addition to the exam schedule, students should familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines and terms and conditions. These can be found on the page for each exam. Students acknowledge they have read and agreed to the terms and conditions upon registration.
Exam locations try their best to accommodate participants with special needs. The nature and severity of these needs should be stated on the registration form, and then confirmed by an attestation of a doctor. The locations for the exam must be able to respect confidentiality and keep it.
If a student has three exams scheduled for the same day, it is recommended to contact their instructor or department to arrange an alternate exam. You’ll need to pay a fee for the examination if you wish to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This fee is in addition the cost of the course.
Practice assessments give you an overview of the style and wording, as well as the level of questions on the test. They help you evaluate your level, discover gaps in your knowledge and increase your chances of passing the test.
